BZ Media’s Third Android Developer Conference Covers
Handsets, Tablets, Embedded and More

AnDevCon III builds on success as the world’s largest, most successful
dedicated Android technology conference

HUNTINGTON, N.Y., JAN. 12, 2012 — Continuing its momentum with the world’s largest Android technical event, BZ Media LLC today announced AnDevCon™ III: The Android Developer Conference.

The four-day conference will take place in Burlingame, Calif., May 14-17. It begins with one full day of intensive workshops, followed by three days of technical classes. The conference will include an exhibit floor for companies selling products and services for Android marketers and developers. More than 1,000 software developers, marketers and entrepreneurs are projected to attend AnDevCon III (www.AnDevCon.com).

The conference is owned, produced and managed by BZ Media LLC, which publishes SD Times, the newspaper for the software development industry. BZ Media also produces iPhone/iPad DevCon, an independent conference focused on Apple’s mobile platforms; the newly launched WPDevCon: The Windows Phone Developer Conference; and SPTechCon: The SharePoint Technology Conference.

The previous AnDevCon II event – held Nov. 6-9, 2011 – filled the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame, Calif., with more than 1,400 people registered – a full 75% increase over AnDevCon I in early 2011. There were nearly 500 attendees in the paid technical conference program, representing all over the United States and 38 countries. AnDevCon II offered keynote presentations from Google and other industry leaders, as well as more than 70 workshops and technical classes.

AnDevCon II also had 51 sponsoring companies, including Motorola Mobility, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Groupon, Adobe, AT&T Interactive, American Express, HTC, Pioneer, Qualcomm, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Pioneer, Cisco and PayPal — four times as many sponsors as at AnDevCon I. The conference was also supported by 97 media and user-group sponsors.

Alan Zeichick, chairman of AnDevCon II and AnDevCon III, said, “Enthusiasm for Android development is strong, and AnDevCon has emerged as the premiere technical conference dedicated to developing for this fast-growing platform. We expect this pattern of growth and interest to continue at AnDevCon III, which will be the best-attended Android development conference in the first half of 2012 — as well as the event with the greatest industry support and sponsorship.” Zeichick continued, “AnDevCon III will continue to offer the industry’s most in-depth technical education about building for Android smartphones and tablets. With this conference, we shall extend the technical program to embrace embedded applications, including Google TV and other emerging Android platforms. If you develop Android applications, you should attend AnDevCon III.”

The technical program for AnDevCon III is being developed, and is expected to be announced by February 1, 2012. The conference organizers have set aside time for five keynote presentations, and up to 70 classes and workshops. Registration for the event is expected to exceed 1500, and BZ Media is projecting up to 70 sponsoring companies.

Registration is now open for AnDevCon III attendees at www.andevcon.com, and space is available in the expo hall. For expo information, contact Adam Teichholz, +1 631-431-4158 x114 ateichholz@bzmedia.com
