Fourth Application Life Cycle Management Study
September 2007

(With comparisons to the 2003, 2005 and 2006 studies)

Methodology

An e-mail was sent to 20,000 randomly selected subscribers to SD Times inviting them to participate in a study on change/configuration management, defect tracking and build management. Excluding bounces, the net number of surveys delivered was 19,753. No incentive to fill out the survey questionnaire was used.

The purpose of the study was to ascertain the use of Application Life Cycle Management software, which features were most valuable to respondents, and to measure awareness of companies in the market. The study was e-mailed on September 6, 2007, and cut off and tabulated by BZ Research on September 17, 2007. A total of 513 subscribers, or 2.6% of the respondents, completed the survey, although not all of them answered every question.

BZ Research designed, conducted and tabulated the study. BZ Research is a division of BZ Media, publisher of SD Times.
