Reporter/Associate Editor
BZ Media, a media company based on Long Island, is in search of a full-time Reporter/ Associate Editor for SD Times, a twice-monthly newspaper for the software development industry, and for the sdtimes.com news website.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Reporting and following a beat
• Proactively developing sources and contacts
• Filing daily short-deadline news stories and blog posts
• Writing long-lead analytical features
• Assisting with team story development
The ideal candidate would have 2-5 years of news reporting, writing and editing experience, preferably covering the computer industry. There may be occasional travel to technology conferences and events in Manhattan and elsewhere in the U.S.
This full-time position is based in BZ Media's Huntington, N.Y., headquarters. The candidate must live within easy commute range of the office.
