WAYNE RASH JOINS SD TIMES AS WEB
TECHNOLOGIES COLUMNIST
Regular column to focus on enterprise Internet development,
Web services

Oyster Bay, N.Y., June 28, 2001 - Wayne Rash, Jr., a well-known
technology journalist and observer, has joined BZ Media’s SD Times
editorial team as a columnist. Rash’s “Web Watch” will focus on how the
latest Internet technologies, including Web services, affect large enterprises.
SD Times is the industry
newspaper for software development managers. Launched in February 2000, SD
Times is published twice each month, and can be read in print or
online at www.sdtimes.com.
Rash, formerly Managing Editor/Technology and Events
Editor for CMP’s InternetWeek, has been a technology
writer, editor, and hands-on product tester since 1973, and has long been
a regular contributor to Byte Magazine and The Washington Post.
Recently, Rash co-founded the University of Hawaii’s Advanced Network
Computing Laboratory, and is the author of “Politics on the Net: Wiring
the Political Process.”
“We’re delighted to welcome Wayne to SD Times,”
said Alan Zeichick, Editor-in-Chief of SD Times. “As a writer and
hands-on technologist, Wayne has demonstrated an understanding of the key
business drivers that encourage enterprises to adopt emerging
technologies. His insights in the fast-moving world of Internet
technologies, such as XML-based e-commerce, Web services, and platform
standards, will help our readers gain a clearer understanding of the value
of these new technologies, and determine how best to apply them to
competitive advantage.”
The first of Rash’s Web Watch columns will appear in the
August 1, 2001, edition of SD Times.
