SD TIMES TO INCREASE RATE BASE
BY 12 PERCENT IN 2002
Software development industry's first newspaper shows
explosive growth in readership

Oyster Bay, N.Y., November 21, 2001 - BZ
Media's SD Times, the newspaper of record for software development
managers, is increasing its guaranteed rate base from an average of 40,000
in 2001 to 45,000 for 2002 - an increase of more than 12 percent.
"Readers are delighted with SD Times," said Ted Bahr, president
of BZ Media. "The combination of timely news and insightful analysis
is just what managers have been looking for - rather than combing through
the technical monthlies for news, or sifting through the broad trade
weeklies for information relevant to software development, they find
everything in one convenient newspaper."
SD Times was launched in February 2000 and is published twice per month in
identical print and digital editions. The newspaper is written exclusively
for enterprise software development managers and is available free to
qualified readers.
SD Times was recently honored for General Excellence in the Fall/Winter 2001
edition of min magazine, a leading trade publication for the magazine industry,
which wrote, "This pub continues to raise the editorial bar." Other
publications recognized for General Excellence included McGraw-Hill's
BusinessWeek and CMP Media's InformationWeek.
Bahr indicated that SD Times' increased readership will also benefit
advertisers, as increased economies of scale due to the larger circulation will
make their advertising more cost-effective.
"With the increased circulation, our CPM [cost per thousand readers] will
decrease," said Bahr, adding, "This will make SD Times - already one
of the most efficient means of reaching this highly influential group of buyers
- even more attractive to marketers. When they factor in the lowered CPM with
the discount programs we offer consistent advertisers, it's hard to imagine a
better marketing vehicle for today's tough economic climate."
Bahr continued, "SD Times was the hottest publication in the software
development market in 2001," citing that the publication's advertising
increased 89 percent, comparing ads published from January-September 2001 with
the same period in 2000. (Source: Adscope) "With the added circulation, and
with SD Times' even more cost-effective advertising opportunities, the next year
is going to be even hotter."
