SD TIMES TO PUBLISH COMPONENT SUPPLEMENT
Special supplement to focus on critical buy-vs.-build
issues
within the Windows .NET component marketplace

Oyster Bay, N.Y., March 3, 2003 - BZ
Media's SD Times, the newspaper for the software development industry,
today announced "Building Blocks For Microsoft .NET: The Case for
Reusable Components," a special advertising supplement to be
distributed with the May 1, 2003, issue of SD Times.
"Building Blocks" will also be distributed to an estimated
12,000 attendees of Microsoft's Tech-Ed conference, scheduled for June
1-6, in Dallas.
The supplement will open with an introduction by Alan Zeichick,
editor-in-chief of SD Times, that will highlight the use of components in
.NET development.
Dave Quigley, executive director of the Component Vendor
Consortium, will write a two-page article presenting the business case for
reusable components. This article will be followed by company profiles of
leading component vendors, focusing on their approach to the buy-vs.-build
issue.
Ted Bahr, president of BZ Media LLC and publisher of SD Times, said,
"We are delighted to be working with the Component Vendor
Consortium,
as well as the leading component vendors, to highlight the buy-vs.-build
factors inherent in the Windows .NET component market with this special
supplement. Software development managers need to hear this message --
that components can help them deliver their applications faster, and at a
potentially huge reduced cost."
David Quigley, executive director of the Component Vendor Consortium,
said, "The value equation is built on pure economics and critical
business need. Many of the leading Windows and .NET components comprise
hundreds of thousands of lines of source code, and thousands of
programmer-hours of development, evolution and quality assurance. With
today's dominant business goals of reducing time-to-market, increasing
market agility and enhancing reliability for new development projects, the
tremendous value of component reuse can't be ignored."

For Microsoft .NET" supplement should contact Ted Bahr at ted@bzmedia.com,
