Technical Program, Keynote Announced for Software Test & Performance Conference

Huntington, N.Y., September 13, 2004 - BZ
Media LLC today announced the class and tutorial lineup for the first
annual Software Test & Performance Conference™, scheduled for December
7-9, 2004, at the Hyatt Regency on the Inner Harbor, Baltimore, Maryland.
The
Software Test & Performance Conference will feature more than 50 classes
and tutorials on the practical implementation of software testing, quality
assurance and performance management best practices. The event expects to
draw approximately 400 attendees in 2004, its first year.
Alan Zeichick, editorial director of Software Test &
Performance Magazine and conference chairman for this event, said, "The
Software Test & Performance Conference will help working test/QA and
development professionals and managers improve their code, test processes
and run-time performance."
Zeichick continued, "The demands being placed upon
software have never been greater. Thanks to the Internet and increasingly
complex environments, companies have to adopt a zero-tolerance approach
toward bugs and security flaws. Businesses can't tolerate transaction
systems that aren't reliable, and nobody can afford application failures due
to poor design, poor coding or the inability for systems to handle the
load."
The event's keynote address will be given by noted
researcher Cem Kamer, whose talk will cover the ongoing revolution in
software testing.
Dr. Kamer is a professor of software engineering at
Florida Institute of Technology and director of Florida Tech's Center for
Software Testing Education & Research, and is author of “Lessons Learned in
Software Testing,” “Testing Computer Software” Second Edition, and “Bad
Software: What To Do When Software Fails.”
The first day of the Software Test & Performance
Conference will consist of full-day tutorials on test methodologies, test
automation, and designing tests for better software performance.
The second and third days of the technical program
encompass in-depth classes on critical topics such as risk mitigation,
Aspect Oriented Programming, Model Based Testing, software configuration
management, optimum use of metrics, managing quality of outsourced
development, verifying software robustness, Web load testing, software
security management, managing software requirements, improving bug/defect
workflow, and software design for performance.
Registration for the Software Test & Performance
Conference is now open at
http://www.stpcon.com, with discounts offered for early registrations by
October 12, 2004.
The conference is also offering special programs and
benefits for development teams sending five or more professionals to the
technical classes.
