BZ MEDIA'S SD TIMES
SHINES SPOTLIGHT ON ECLIPSE

Huntington, N.Y. and Ottawa, Ont., December 13, 2004 - BZ
Media LLC and the Eclipse Foundation today announced the release of "Spotlight
on Eclipse," a special supplement to SD Times which highlights the growing
momentum surrounding Eclipse, the open-source universal tools platform.
The supplement was distributed with the December 1,
2004, issue of BZ Media's SD Times, the industry newspaper for software
development managers. It is also available for download from
http://www.sdtimes.com, and via a
link from http://eclipse.org,
the official Web site of the Eclipse Foundation.
Alan Zeichick, Editor-in-Chief of SD Times and Executive
Vice President of BZ Media LLC, said, "Spotlight on Eclipse marks the
remarkable progress made by the Eclipse Foundation. During the past three
years, Eclipse has become the de facto standard platform for many developers
and ISVs working on Java, Linux, Mac OS X and Windows projects. We would
like to thank the Eclipse Foundation for its support of this special
supplement."
The "Spotlight on Eclipse" supplement opens with a report
from Mike Milinkovich, Executive Director of the Eclipse Foundation, which
described how Eclipse has evolved into a mature development platform for
building, testing and deploying software applications. It also discusses
Eclipse's vibrant ecosystem of add-in providers, commercial solutions,
books, education and information portals, advanced resource projects and an
active, growing developer community.
Milinkovich said, "The Eclipse Foundation was delighted to
work with SD Times on the Spotlight on Eclipse project. Communication is a
core mission of the Foundation, and we would like to thank BZ Media for
helping us share the success behind Eclipse, as well as the plans that we
and the 80 member organizations have for the future."
In addition to the Eclipse Foundation, 22 separate Eclipse
member organizations participated in the "Spotlight on Eclipse" supplement,
including Accelerated Technologies, a Mentor Graphics Division; Agitar;
Exadel; Parasoft; and Wind River. The supplement will also be distributed at
EclipseCon 2005, a
technical conference scheduled for February 28-March 3 at the Hyatt Regency
in Burlingame, Calif., close to San Francisco International Airport.
Separately, BZ Media announced that it has joined the
Eclipse Foundation as an Associate Member.
Zeichick said, "The Eclipse Foundation is an important
industry association that shows genuine leadership, vision and innovation
toward advancing the art of enterprise software development. BZ Media is
proud to be a formal supporter of the Eclipse project."
