FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Registration Opens for Software Security Summit 2006
Conference program packed with in-depth tutorials and
practical technical classes

Huntington, N.Y., September 26, 2005 - BZ Media
LLC, publisher of SD Times, today announced that registration is open
for the Software Security Summit™ 2006, the premier technical
conference for software developers and IT professionals charged with
ensuring the security of enterprise applications inside the firewall.
Following the success of the debut event, held in March, 2005, the next
Software Security Summit (www.S-3con.com)
will be held Feb. 6-8, 2006, at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla in San Diego,
Calif.
The technical program for the Software Security Summit
2006 consists of one full day of in-depth tutorials, followed by two days of
practical technical classes on a wide range of topics of vital concern to
software professionals looking to build more secure software as well as
address vulnerabilities in software they already own.
Alan Zeichick, Editor-in-Chief of SD Times and Conference
Chairman of the Software Security Summit 2006, said, "What struck me, while
reviewing the final program, is how many ways that vulnerabilities can get
into an application, and the steps that software developers, architects and
testers must take to ensure that vulnerabilities are addressed. Sometimes
you have to look at the forest, not the trees; sometimes you have to look at
the trees, instead of the forest. Sometimes you have to look at the specific
leaf, branch or root. And sometimes you have to look closely at the forest
ranger."
The full-day tutorials at the Software Security Summit
2006 address integrating security into the software development life cycle;
writing secure code for Microsoft .NET applications; secure coding in C and
C++; and creating secure Java applications.
There are also more than 40 practical classes at the
conference, on topics such as developing bulletproof Web applications; using
security metrics; establishing an effective risk-management process;
managing security when the source code is unavailable; developing an
application development security policy; and creating a hack-proof Service
Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Registration for the Software Security Summit 2006 costs
US$1,395 for the full event pass, including the tutorials and technical
classes, $1,180 for the two-day classes, or $695 for the full-day tutorials
alone. However, eXtreme Early Bird Pricing, available through Nov. 10, 2005,
lowers the full-event pass price to $945. Discounts for teams of four or
more attendees from the same company, user group members and for conference
alumni are also available.
